Workshops and Services

Universities and research centers are taking steps to improve their standing and competitive edge amongst academic and research institutions worldwide. This is achieved in four ways:

  • By publishing in higher ranked journals, as a result of investing more on such journals for their libraries
  • By producing more articles and taking part is what is known as knowledge development.
  • By raising standards and standing of their internally published journals
  • By developing comprehensive and competitive research maps of their institutions and focusing their investments in areas where they know they (may) have competitive edge.

FARIDEA has years of experience in just these as its core and sole focus of operation.

We are offering the following services in order to accompany you in your mission:

  • Collection Development – We have in-house products which enable us to upload your institution’s current holding and provide you with not only ranks of your holdings but, perhaps much more important, we can offer you alternatives for subscription in order to switch to higher ranked journals in all of your subjects of interest.
  • Research and Authorship Workshops – FARIDEA is collaborating with a number of key publishers in order to run special workshops for your researchers in order to advocate state of the art research protocols and procedures, with the aim of leading to publication in peer reviewed journals. Our services not only include workshops by renowned experts in the fields but also services such as language editing.
  • Editorial Workshops – A good number of academic and research institutions in all countries possess in-house presses and publish one or more journals on relatively regular basis. Here too we may accompany you and provide some useful services which includes:
  • workshops for your editorial board (s) in order to enhance their work to a higher level should this be needed,
  • plus assistance in getting your journals indexed by prestigious citation databases such as Web of Science and Scopus.
  • Research Management Support – Gone those days that a faculty member would decide about his or her research in abstract and isolation. In today’s modern and interconnected world, where budgets are shrinking and number of researchers are growing, those in charge of budget allocation or grants will need to know where best to invest their funds. The main objective is to see where your institution is stronger, has competitive edge, and possesses resources including researchers. We have been assisting universities as well as higher-level regional and national research management bodies in order to analyze their strengths and develop research maps for their affiliated centers by examining regional and local competitors.
